This morning, we took Georgia back to the medical clinic for her TB test results. Thankfully she tested negative! After that, we went to the Guongzhou zoo, which was a lot of fun! Georgia loved all the animals--especially when they made noises! There were all kinds of animals!--including gorillas, monkeys, zebras, a panda, tigers, leopards, lions, a rhino, hippos, kangaroos and more. It was a lot of fun.

She loved the monkeys!
This afternoon, we took her swimming at the hotel pool. It'...

Today we went to Shamian Christ Church on Shamian Island, which has been there since the 1800s, and enjoyed a very nice service in Mandarin and English. Georgia slept through most of it :) Afterwards we went to a pearl/jewelry bazaar/market/"mall"--5 floors of wholesale jewelry! It was great, but pretty overwhelming!
Georgia is a wild little girl! We call her "bullet" :) She laughs, giggles and screeches all kinds of little words, and talks up a storm! She is very independant, and stu...

We visited Shamian island today for Georgia's medical exam. She did great! The floor at the clinic was tiled with flooring that read "Happy Birthday" :) On our way there we saw a man carrying 2 rats by the tail...our guide said sometimes people eat them!! (she doesn't :))
Our hotel is very nice, and huge! There is a Starbucks and several shops selling "American" food so we feel right at home!
The weather is cool here, which is unusual for this area. We're hoping it will warm up s...

Wow! The Wal-Mart here is certainly different! For one thing, it was underground! For another, it was HUGE!!!! We spent a great long time walking around and enjoying the sights! Trent enjoyed watching the live frogs, snails, turtles etc. in the tanks at the seafood department (!) :) and we all were intrigued by the chicken feet!!!
It is amazing what people carry on their bikes here! Cardboard boxes (4 or 5 huge boxes at a time) long steel tubes, boards, baskets, flower arrangements !!!...

Georgia is very busy! When we go down to check email at the Business Ceneter in the hotel she occupies herself with going through other peoples purses :) ripping leaves off plants and running around. She loves jumping on the beds and climbing on the suitcases and tables.
We have gotten lots of fantastic pictures with various people on the streets. :) Everyone enjoys filming and taking pictures of us. :)

We visited a park where there were monkies roaming around. They were pretty cute! ...

Today, in the morning, we walked down along the sidewalks near our hotel next to the river. We could see a bunch of stands and people and so we wanted to check it out. It turned out to be a sort of special market, held once a week. It was pretty neat! Most of the food stuff they were selling we couldn't even tell what it was! There were stands selling towels, stands where people were getting dental work (!?!) and tons of herbs. It was pretty cool!
Later on we went to a museum about Gui...

(Sorry about the jump in days, my journal notes keep getting scattered. Georgia loves unpacking and repacking my notebook and I guess the 12th got jumbled up!)

Dad has JiaJia in a pack, and he is humming to her. She loves it, and is humming with him. :) This morning at breakfast they were playing "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby, and had a delightful selection of Christmas music. :) We just can't get enough "fired noodle" and baked beans for breakfast.
Georgia loves to dump out all her pencils...

4:00am
We all got up at 3:00. We're so excited! Today we fly to Guiyang to get Georgia Maeleigh TingJia Cole!
Susan, our guide here in Beijing, said that "Jia" is part of her name, and her friends call her JiaJia.

7:50am
We're on the plane to Guiyang! Air China is very nice. We tried to talk to some elderly Chinese ladies at the airport but we couldn't understand each other! We can only say "thank you" and "no thank you" in Chinese. :)

8:00am
We're taking off!

8:20pm
Georgia is fantastic!!! We got ...

7:45am
We had a lovely breakfast. Included was sauteed mushrooms, fried noodles, baked beans, and thankfully some American pastries! Dad and Trent like all the Chinese food but I'm not big on it! Mom likes the fried rice. Dad tried a sort of noodle soup and chopsticks--which he is having a hard time mastering. :) everyone who walked by smiled and laughed. :)
We went to bed about 6:30 last night since we were so tired! The hotel is extremely nice. Everyone is friendly and mo...
